November 2005 ~ "Open Theme"

Family Gathered Round

The family gathered 'round
For a celebration today
With lots of food and friends
People dance and children play

The family gathered 'round
To bring the couple joy
In celebrating the birth
Of their little baby boy

The family gathered 'round
Held hand and knelt to pray
And thank the Lord up above
For the gifts of everyday

The family gathered 'round
With sadness in their hearts
One of them has gone to Heaven
The family was torn apart

The family gathered 'round
To give a hug and say I love you
To let each other know each day
They will always be here too

The Reflection

I gazed into the crystal waters of a woodland pool
Mesmerized by the gentle ripples on its surface,
An amber-coloured autumn leaf floated lazily by,
Its time on the tree now spent.
Twilight fast closed in as the sky darkened,
In place of the sun, the silvery moon
cast its mysterious light over the pool
The water glistening in the glow.
As I watched this shimmering beauty,
I was surprised by the reflection of a handsome man.
I had heard no footsteps to warn of his approach,
Looking round there was no-one to be seen,
I returned my gaze to the water,
His reflection was there no longer
Only the face of the moon staring up at me.

The Angel's Rest

God, in His wisdom, looked down on my life,
Filled with it's problems, hardship and strife.
His angels around me were tired and worn out,
From helping me battle the problems about.
My Father in Heaven knew what to do!
He made arrangements for me to meet you!
I get comfort, companionship, agape love,
and when I need it, a gentle shove.
You remind me of all that's good,
and help me do things as I should.
You lift my spirits when I get blue.
I know I can always count on you.
You make me feel better about being me,
'Cause the good in me is what you see.
You're my earthly angel, my sister, and friend,
A blessing that only Father could send.
A friend who has withstood time's test,
and let my guardian angels rest!

Thank You, Father, for my friend, Dawn.

The Wind

I am never quite certain about the wind
It is never obvious within the confines of my life.

I sometimes feel it against my face for a split second
only to leave me once again in bewilderment.

Still, the wind is without form or substance eluding me
and at the same time battling me.

Only the autumn wind I like
to hear the wind rustling through the autumn leaves
imprints upon me a sense of definition.

The autumn wind reminds me of how much color there is to life
when it is about to change.

It gives me hope of the morrow.

And when the autumn wind acts within my purpose
to carry my words to another or sweeter still ...
to bring me the words "I love you"

it is God's face touching mine.

My Wish

One starry night
Not to long ago
I made a simple wish
For reasons left unknown.

I wished that
All the world
And all humanity,
Ended all the wars
And finally let freedom be.

I asked for nothing personal
For I have all that I need.
I only asked for peace on Earth
And for all to know their worth.

Christmas Never Forgotten

The seasons come and go.
The occasions pass like the wind in a storm.
Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's too.
Easter, Mother's Day with lots of love.
Father's Day and Canada Day also Independence for the U. S.
Labor Day as well as Halloween and Thanksgiving too.
But the one occasion that lasts the whole year through
Is the giving of Christmas and the
love given throughout the year.
from me and you to those with none to spare.
Always remembering each and every Christmas
Some better than the last and others not so good.

So make sure this Christmas you
think of someone less fortunate
I WILL BE !

WANDERING WILDERNESS WOLVES

Loping through the twilight.
An exquisite pack of fifteen timber wolves.
Silhouetted in golden beams of moonlight.
Back dropped in a forest of pastel green.
Breaking out of the timber;
high atop a shear rock bluff.
Alpha leader, halts his high spirited renegades in their tracks.
A pristine alpine pond appearing far below.
In the serenity of Nature;
this free flowing wilderness canine group speak to Nature.
Sitting back on muscular haunches; with silver tinted snouts lifted
to the star spangled night sky.
Wilderness solitude awakens!
Reverberating across the vast expanse of thermal currents
Nature comes alive! in a serene wilderness wolves' piercing howl.
