With a New Year comes new beginnings, new changes and many new ventures. As the PE leadership changed hands it was decided a new look for the website was in order. Which brings us to the January theme - to write about what Poetic Expressions means to you....with the winning submission featuring on the main page.

Expressions
Expressions in the form of wordsare like the sweet embrace
Of a lover's arms that shelter us
in comforting solace
A voice that whispers in the heart
a silky smooth caress
That woos us with a gentle flow
of words that we express
A soul that's captured by a breath
a moment or a touch,
The sound of a newborn baby's cry
or a loved one we miss so much
A mind that carves these memories
and written into words
That gives back to us so much more
than we could ever learn -
And so it's here within this place
we learn to spread our wings
With other lovers of the words
that stirs us deep within
The expressions we form into words
of which we are a part
We share in fun and friendship here
as writers of the heart.

Little words and minute phrasesTrickle through my mind
All my life from the special moments
Poems have been refined
Some read my humble offerings with amusement
Others with scorn at such a waste of time
Yet here among my sisters
The music of my mind finds a home
Even the least of my efforts are applauded
And when the muse within shines forth most glorious
The first I wish to share with are here
My sisters, my friends.

Garden of Friendship Poetic Expressions
I’m asked to write about Garden of FriendshipAnd what Poetic Expressions means to me.
Please let me tell you what this all means
Let me share my words so you can see.
Let me share with you the joy of morning
When sunshine fills the sky,
Let me express my comfort
When situations make you cry.
Let my words be part of the laughter
When times of joy fill your days,
Let me paint a picture for you
Of the sun’s setting rays.
Let me describe to you
The puddles after rain,
The lifting of the clouds
When the sun comes out again.
Let me describe what companionship means,
And how special the time with friends,
Let me describe your journey of life,
As we travel around the bends.
Poetic Expressions brings me joy
And the company of like minds,
Such a very special place to be,
The best that I can find.

Poetic Expressions Means....
What does poetic expressionsMean to me, the question read....
I hardly know how to begin,
So much has filled my head....
It's opened up a brand new world
Of creativity,
It's shown me lots of new ideas
And possibilities.
It's taught me how to write haiku,
Acrostics, limericks too,
Diamante and etherees,
Just to name a few.
When I first joined, I had not shared
A single thing I wrote....
I never could have dreamed that for
My poems some would vote!
It's built my writing confidence
And opened up the door
To writing better poems
Than I could have done before.
I look forward to assignments
And welcome challenge there,
I'm thankful for Poetic Expressions,
The best group anywhere!!
