The theme this month was A Day in the Life of _________
where members had to fill the blank with anything of their choice
- an item, a celebrity, a pet or even themselves! The results were rather interesting.
A Day In The Life Of A Country Fire Fighter
The ambients of this dawn
Holding a secret that has been torn
From the face of hell itself
Taking the chill from the life it claims
All that lays before its mighty strength
A fireman in wait for what he fears will come to be
In his soul he knows of a fate he dare not speak
Sitting in silence with his head deep in his hands
Wiping the sweat from his brow and cheek
Saying a prayer that no one will have to weep
To fight the fury thrown before him set by living man
That is extinguishing all life from the face of this land
As hell spreads across this dry arid earth
The darkness of smoke takes away the light of day
While he stands alone surrounded by flames
Facing the anger of Mother Natures pain

A Day in the Life of Me
Every day is the same just like another How my life is so empty since losing my mother.
My feelings are anger, poignant and somber; The days turn to nights and they get even longer.
The music I listen reminds me of you; Of times spent together and memories so true.
You told me to listen, and watch all around; My mother, my friend, now six feet underground.
I miss your voice, laughter, and seeing your face; I know in my heart your life was full of grace.
I’m trying to see all the good in my days; You’re with me, I feel you, in so many ways.
Your singing was heavenly, your talent astounding; I hear you, I listen, your voice is resounding.
I wanted you happy and the time was at hand; You joined dad in heaven, and that was so grand!
You’re together and happy I know for a fact; You, dad, and God made a pact;
To guide me and give advice from you both; Gives me that feeling I can move on with hope.
My days are long and I still have the sorrow; I will look to the days and focus on tomorrows.
I feel your love and hugs beyond measure; And know in my heart that it’s me who you treasure.
So mom I do miss you and know you’re at rest; I love you and mom you are and were simply the best.

A Day in the Life of One Spoilt Girl
Her head rests quietly on my thigh
Snoring softly through the night
I wake to find her still asleep
This joyous bundle at my feet
When morning breaks it's time to rise
Come on, girl, let's go outside -
A flying leap is all it takes
To prove that she is wide awake!
Then by the door she anxiously waits
Or sits by me and anticipates
"Can we, mummy, go in car?!"
With those adoring eyes that I love.
But after tiring games of play
And food and love and cuddles all day
She flops exhausted on the bed
And curls up with mummy once again.

A Day in the Life of a Cat
I’d like to live a day in the life of my cat
So I can get lots of hugs and pats
Lounge around sleeping all day
Try and catch mice in the hay
Spoilt rotten with lots of toys
Oh my what a joy!
To live a day in the life of my cat
Just so I can be spoilt by pats!
When the day is over I can climb into bed
With my mummy & friend,
& sleep my way till morning
Where it can all start again.
Oh yes, I think I’d like to be my cat
Just for the endless Pats!

A Day In The Life Of A House Wife
Yes I am a housewife
This is my daily life
I have no job but at home
Where I am free to roam
With this Economy
No one will hire me
All I can find is non paying jobs
The only income is once a month
No one seems to like me
I guess this is the way it has to be
There are times we go hungry
Due to having no money
Being a housewife is alright
Though I hate cleaning day and night
I am loved and honored
So I can sleep tight
