April 2005 Theme ~ "Rainbows
Each month our members are asked to write a poem
using the current Theme of the Month.
Our theme for April 2005 was "Rainbows."
Congratulations to our April Winners!
I HAVE A LITTLE RAINBOW
I have a little rainbow that follows me around
Doesn't matter if it's raining, or my face is in a frown
I get up every morning, and there it is again
Acting like my shadow, ....I think it needs a friend.
People stop to look at me, as I go my way
Guess there is no doubt, my rainbow makes them gay
When asked where it came from, I say I have no clue
Just one day at my side, it stuck to me like glue.
My days are filled with glee, my heart is full of love
Why anything is possible, I could soar just like a dove
How on earth did I make it, all alone before
Without my little rainbow, to whom I now adore.

TEARDROPS OF PROMISE
Storm clouds fill my life today
With shadows, loss and pain
They fall throughout my being
Like a hard and driven rain
There seems no end in sight for me
No light beyond the bend
Teardrops slip from sightless eyes
I long to find a friend
Then from within the inky clouds
A ray of light appears
To strike the tiny crystals
That once had been my tears
And from my former teardrops
Bands of color flow
To form the band of promise
God's glorious rainbow

THE WONDER OF A RAINBOW
In its very magnificent splendor
The rainbow spans across the sky
Showing off its glorious color
Oh what a beautiful sight.
Red, purple, blue, yellow and green
One of God's many creations
The rainbow has a wondrous sheen
Of its own for you to behold.
Take heed of this sight
For it will not stay
The end of the sun or rain
Will cause it to go away.
But come back it will
For you to look at and ponder
When it rains and the sun shines
It is the rainbow's wonder!
