Miscellaneous Assignments
This mini assignment was to write a poem about a
Pot of Gold, in celebration of St. Patrick's Day.
The End of the Rainbow
They say at the end of the rainbow in the sky
Is a pot of gold of humongous size
Its hidden there in perfect disguise
So not man nor leprechaun can see with his eye
I often wonder about that Pot of Gold
Is it real or just a story I was once told
Could you find happiness from riches so bold
All in a story of a Pot of Gold.

The Pot Of Gold
A mischievous little soul was he
Who loved to dance and sing
Sliding down the rainbow
Was his very favorite thing
For at the end a pot of gold
This Leprechaun did find
He stuffed his pockets full
There was no one there to mind
Doing a jig he kicked his heels
And waved his arms in the air
This lucky little fellow
Who never had a care

My Pot of Gold
Chasing rainbows that you may never catch
For that elusive Pot of Gold
That you just can't seem to quite reach
But you know in time
One day you will get to hold
For every rainbow there is a dream
The visions that lays so deep within our mind
Of what tomorrow could bring in time
For all the colored drops of crystal lights
Each drop is a step we take in life
To reach to achieve for what we believe is right
For when our dreams do come true
For me and you
We have then found that Pot of Gold
Right there at the rainbows end
The riches that will fulfill your heart and soul
For each day that now passes as we grow old
My Pot Of Gold
I caught my rainbow
The day I had my son and held him
In my arms for that very first time
I had found my Pot of Gold
I am blessed now as I grow old

Pot of Gold
Beyond every rainbow
there is a pot of gold
With treasure so abounding
it can't be bought or sold;
A value so much greater
than we think of its worth,
A kindly deed or gesture
we sprinkle here on earth.
A rainbow is a promise
of something so much more
A beauty in abundance
of all it holds in store;
A gentle understanding
and tender loving care
A blessing painted in the sky
its reminder we find there.
So you see beyond the myriad
it really does exist
We only need to find its worth
within the heart that gives;
Instead of chasing wishful dreams
to reach that rainbow's end
Stop and look beyond the wealth
to the value of a friend.

Pot of Gold
The pot of gold in life
Is not so easy to find
When one is bound
In chains of strife
And going through hard times.
Its shimmering gold is hard to see
When blinded by those tears
That cause such pain and misery
For days
And months
And years.
One may say
"There is no gold
This life has saved for me
For if this treasure
Should be true
It's lost in raging sea."
But oh, Dear one
It's not lost,
I know this fact is true
Its golden rays will always shine
Each precious day so new.
Each day you rise
To meet the sun,
You'll find the gift worth giving
Was the pot of gold
Of life itself...
A new day worth living.

The Pot of Gold
I got my pot of gold out, now it's just so old,
I dump the pot to use to hold
my green dust for the spring flowers
So I may have 3 months of green instead of just 24 hours.
Four leaf clovers to look for through the summer
Through the grass in the yard
I will sprinkle my green dust
And watch everything grow.

Pot of Gold
I'm thinking of a box of chocolate treats
Something delicious, yummy and oh so sweet.
Try a cluster, a caramel, a truffle, or crème
How about a mint, something sugar free, or a pecan dream?
What are these treats that have this great hold?
It’s one of the many assortments in a box of..

The Pot of Gold
I wandered down a lonely path
Where no one ever walked before,
And as I walked, I wondered if
I'd be alone forevermore....
Then suddenly a leprechaun
Ran hurriedly across my path
And hid beneath a fern nearby
And I could hear his cackling laugh....
"Oh, little man," I said to him,
"I'm looking for a pot of gold,
To help me make it through this life,
To bring me joy and wealth untold."
"You silly girl," he said to me,
"You have it all, you are not poor,
Oh, what I'd give for what you have,
The love of family, friends, and more...."
And then I realized he's right,
I did not need a pot of gold....
The greatest treasures in the world
Waited back home for me to hold.

The Pot of Gold
A pot of gold is what we seek
And search for it high and low
We think it's just beyond our grasp
And through life our hope is in tow
That one day we will LUCK upon
That elusive vision or dream
But when we just can't find it
We say life's not what it seems
The problem is not in what we seek
That causes our distress
It's just that where we look for it
That causes all the mess
The pot of gold stood tall and proud
For all the world to see
Over 2000 years ago
As He hung upon a tree
But mankind doesn't see
The things that do appear
And what is right before His eyes
We turn away, in fear
So next time you are searching
For your troubles to come to an end
Just bow your head and open your heart
And that pot of gold you'll win!!!!

Pot of Gold
Where do I find it
That richest of treasures
Is it real or only make believe?
I have searched far and wide
Near and far yet it still does hide
I thought I saw a hint of it
Just the other day
In a child that did run and play
But in an instant it was gone
Playing with my mind I am sure
Then in a smile of two so very in love
I saw another glimpse
But only for a moment in time
Finally, I sat down and let my mind flow
Where would I go?
If a pot of gold I was supposed to be?
Finally it came to me.
I quit looking and let my heart fly
Reading a book to a child
Spending time with an old friend
Visiting that one that age has shut in
There before I realized it, I had found it
The most golden of treasures
The warmth of the glowing embers within
The sharing heart of time given
