Something About This Season
There's something about this seasonThat warms the heart and soul
We do what we can for others....
At least that is our goal.
There's something about this season
That gives us so much joy
Just watching little children
Receive a favorite toy.
There's something about this season
That simply can't be beat
Getting together with our families
To laugh and love and eat....
There's something about this season
So full of joy and cheer
That gives us all the hope that
We'll make it through next year.
There's something about this season
That we should ne'er forget,
We celebrate for a reason....

There's something about this season
The air swirling around me is freezin'
The days are shorter and don't seem to last
The year went by so very fast
Decorative lights up all along the city streets
Policemen humming jingle bells as they walk their beats
Hot cocoa in many a mug
And Santa gives his beard a tug
Of course it is my favorite time of year
A time of laughter and good cheer
"Have you picked out a present?" a birdie whispers
in your ear
After all, you know my birthday is oh so very near

There's something about this SeasonThat always warms my heart
The joy of seeing my loved ones
Who during the year are miles apart
There's something about this Season
That brings a sparkle to my eye
The anticipation of my children
Knowing that Christmas is nigh
There's something about this Season
That brings out the child in me
The beauty and wonder of it all
In everything that I see
There's something about this Season
That is so very dear to me
Knowing that Christ is my Savior
Is the only gift that I need

That warms my inner self
I want to play out in the snow
Or be Santa's little elf !!
There's something about this season
That makes my whole heart sing
The falling snow, the merry smiles
The sound of the bells ring !!

When children make big wishes
For dolls and trucks and other things
From blocks to pretty dishes !!
There's something about this season
That brings so much more joy
To old and new, from me and you
To every girl and boy !!

There's something about this season,
the chaos that goes on, so much hustle and bustle,
always so busy, shopping, baking, preparing
and planning, wrapping gifts....
Things so hectic when Christmas comes around,
so many things to do in a day
but always so little time to do it in.
Lists and lists of gifts wanted and lists of
items to buy, people to invite, cards to mail.
Well wishes sent and smiles shared, my gosh,
Christmas is such a wonderful time of year.
The thoughts of so many less fortunate
that aren't able to celebrate the season
'cause they have no house to live in, food to eat,
or money to buy presents for their loved ones.
I know how it is, I've been there,
only I had a roof over my head.
When my parents would remember they had children
and make it home from the bar to let us in the house.
Oh, could somebody send me an e-mail
and let me know when it's all done?
I'm going to hibernate, I think, just like a bear does.

THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SEASON
There's something about this seasonPeople are smiling all over the place
Spending time together
In every country, religious belief and race
Some of them are families, separated by the miles
Who come together once a year
They join hands at the dinner table or the tree
And even hug and shed a tear
Promises are made to keep in touch
Phone numbers are exchanged too
But by February the number is lost
Does this sound familiar to you?
There's something about this season
When the gift of love comes out in bloom
But it would be even more of a gift
If that love would spread beyond the living room
You see, ever since Jesus was born
he has been that "something" that made this season
He is the greatest gift, it's "Love"
And He is the ultimate reason

The magic in its glow
The jingle bells in merry hearts
The sight of falling snow
Yes, there's something about this season,
Something about its sound
Pleasant voices humming carols
Such cheer felt all around
Oh, there's something in the wind
That wasn't there before
As Christmas comes a'knocking
On time's December door
There's something about the children
The smiling boys and girls
All waiting for Christmas morning
All over this great big world.
Oh, feel that Christmas Spirit
'Tis something in the air
Red and silver melodies
Pure,
True,
And fair
Golden bows
And mistletoes
And moments by the fire
To tell a story
Of Christmas Glory;
A quiet soul's desire.
There's something about this season...
Many gifts big and small
But the One that laid in a little manger
Was the greatest gift of all.
