Fun Time Minis

This assignment was to write a short poem beginning with the words "One of these days. . . . . ."

One of these days I'll clean my house,
And vacuum the carpets and rugs,
And wipe all the dust off the furniture,
And wash all the plates and the mugs.
One of these days I'll make the bed
And wash all the dirty clothes;
I'll wax the wood on the foyer floor
And polish until it glows!
Yes, one of these days I'll find the time
To clean up my dirty house....
At least that's what I keep telling myself
As I pick up my pc mouse.

One of these days I'll go to bed
at a more normal hour,
Then I'll awake far more refreshed
without such a long shower!

One of these days come morning
when I first open my eyes
I won't be greeted by the shock
it's later that I realized!

One of these days I'll find the time
to put my thoughts to bed
But here I am still tinkering
on the Internet instead!

One of these days my first port of call
won't be the computer room,
I'll wash the floors, the dishes and clothes,
but then maybe hell might freeze soon!

Yes, one of these days I might do something
other than compute,
But if I honestly didn't have this vice
then I'd never met any of you!!

One of these days when I try to dust
Passing by the computer will be a must.
For whenever I get close to my chair
I forget the dust on the TV over there !

One of these days when the sun's still bright
I'll go outside and enjoy the natural light
Not just the glow of the monitors screen
Or the bleeps and the IMs that come in between.

One of these days I will plant some flowers
Or sit on my deck and relax for an hour.
I'll not think of the friends who are waiting for me
Should I just go boot up, or let the 'puter be?

One of these days I go for a walk
Call an old friend and have a long talk.
One of these days I'll get off my duff
Pet the cat, give the car a good buff.

One of these days I'll quit fooling myself
Hire a maid or dream up an elf
I hate to do housework, gardening's not play
So I sit here and think, one of these days !!

New Puppy

One of these days,
I'll have free time once more.
Instead of having to stop,
And clean the mess on the floor.

One of these days,
I'll get to sleep all night through.
Instead of taking the little one,
Out to potty at two.

One of these days,
I'll have quiet again.
Instead of barking and yapping
When will it end?

Once of these days,
Things will return to as they should.
But until then, I'll work on surviving
The wonder and joys of puppyhood.

One of these days I'll do my level best
To do all that is required of me
To get my assignment in will be the test

One of these days I'll not just sit here
staring into space
Or playing games or working in psp
Knowing that the chores are staring me in the face

One of these days very soon I'll have my grandbaby
To cuddle and love and babysit
July 4th my birthday Luke is due
Do you think its time to act like a lady?

One of these days I'll write a real letter
You know the one you used to post?
Instead of the lazy way of emailing
A card in an envelope is so much better

One of these days I'll be laid to rest
Knowing my life I had done so much
I know for sure having my internet mates
Is the most important thing I loved the best

One of these days I'm going to clean
My house, my life, my mind
And toss out all the worthless trash
That I am sure to find.

One of these days,
I know what I'll do,
I'll sign on a ship
And sail the ocean blue.

One of these days
I will take a trip
I'll see the Australian Outback
And come back smart as a whip!

One of these days
In the future it does seem,
I'll be able to do more
Than to just sit and dream.

One of these days, I'll be through with my work,
There will be no more need for my wages.
I can lay down my troubles and worries,
Having passed through all of life's stages.

All my family I'll see,
And together we'll be,
My loneliness put to rest.

And the tear in my eye,
Will be wiped gently dry,
By He who loves me the best.
